Exhausted after a long workout, picking up dry cleaning and packing for an early morning flight to California.

It's been one hell of a frustrating day and I am happily enjoying a Heineken pint from my new mini-keg. I don't drink a lot of beer, but the mini-keg has tempted me for some time so I finally gave in. Work is frustrating, stressful and on the brink of being overwhelming right now and that combined with Leigh and I making some huge life decisions and the temporary uncertainty that will bring seems to be pushing me to the edge of sanity. I try and step back and put it all in perspective (aka relax), but sometimes you just need to vent. Now is that time.
One thing I will say is that over the years music has consistently been the key to bringing me out of a foul mood and making me lighten up. It's amazing to me that the combination of sound from various man made instruments can have that amount of power over a person's emotional and mental state, but it is oh so true. A life without music isn't much of a life at all.

Enjoying a little Sunday morning Fratellis music before starting on the weekend chores.

After spending the last 7 hours working on it, I am happy to say that I have made a tool that allows me to email or SMS message a certain email address and that email gets posted here to the site. I know this sounds really nerdy and completely unnecessary, but this is something I have wanted to be able to do for a long time and will make its way into 1by365 and other sites. Updating via text is what it's all about.

This a test to see if I can have my site process an email I send it and post that email here on the site. I hope it works!

I have gotten so used to running 10-12 miles every saturday to reach my 1,000 miles that I feel lazy for not wanting to today.
Friday - 01.04.08
We just got back from dinner with our friend Robby who is visiting from Japan with his girlfriend. Really great to see him.
Trying to make myself take a break long enough to go get some lunch. Busy day.
Thursday - 01.03.08
I'm working from home today but I have so much to do that it is suprisingly easy to focus.
Wednesday - 01.02.08
I couldn't be happier with all the people signing up for 1by365 and while I enjoy seeing people sign up whose names I don't recognize, what is really awesome is seeing my mom, step-dad, sisters, Leigh's family, close friends, and other family logging in and posting miles. As of right now we have already logged 82 miles in the first 2 days!
I do hope that everyone who signed up knows that if I see people slacking off and not logging any miles for weeks at a time I am going to start heckling them. We will have comments enabled on the site soon (to make encouraging people even easier) and are sure to have a ton of new stuff to add throughout the year. So keep it up everyone and thanks again for participating!

If you hold you head just right, it's snowing here in Raleigh.
Back at work like everyone else and it's not so bad. Fortunately everyone is moving slow as they settle in.

What started out as a fitness goal of my own (to run at least a mile a day for every day of 2008) has morphed into a online log for anyone to challenge themselves by running.jogging.walking as much as they can in the new year. The site is all about using a community of friends and family to encourage each other to exercise regularly and just improve their overall fitness.
Many thanks to Robbie for designing the site and helping to make this a reality. Please go over to 1by365.com and sign-up and then start logging your miles. Be sure to look for lots of news features to be added as we move forward.
Remember 1by365.com encourages everyone who joins to run, jog or walk 1 mile each day. However, this is NOT mandatory. The ultimate goal is better physical fitness. So, be sure to spread the word to any family or friends that might be interested.

Happy 2008 Everyone.

Seeing as how today is the last day of the year, it seems like a good time to do some year-end stats. Maybe one day Robbie will finish the lifelog project that he has talked about.

I just finished watching The Host based on Michael's recommendation as one of the best movies of the year. It was pretty awesome.
Sunday - 12.30.07
It looks like today is going to be a rainy chores day. Stuff to recycle center, Goodwill, groceries, hanging shelves, etc.
Saturday - 12.29.07
Just got back from dinner with Trent and Erin and am feeling stuffed from all the food, beer, and coffee.
I've been watching a lot of movies over the last couple days - best was I Am Legend, worst was AVPR.
I'm trying to devise a plan for today but all I want to do is sit around and watch recorded soccer games.
Oh look, I've really been updating for the last 2 months and you just didn't see it?! Well sorta. I finally redesigned this page so that it pulls in my Twitter updates (as well as Flickr, and coming soon Google Reader, etc) so that it does show that I am alive and am updating. I also axed comments for now because frankly the comment spam was taking over and I don't know how to prevent it. Once I get that figured out, comments will return. In the meantime, enjoy the updates.
