Headed over to Silent Uproar storage to see if I can clean it out and move everything into our garage.

We just found one of our cats locked upstairs in a room by our house cleaner. She has peed all over the bed and torn out the carpet.

After walking to McDonalds this morning for coffee, I spent the next 9 hours on the phone leading conference calls.

I hated having to chop firewood as a kid but for some reason I wanna chop some right now.

I just went and peeked over at 1by365.com and notice we just past the 1,000 mile mark! While, I was hoping it would take off and be a success, it blows my mind that we have collectively logged 1,000 miles in the first 22 days. What's even better? Looking at seeing that all sorts of friends and family that I know have not exercised regularly in the past are logging regular miles and sticking with it almost a month in. I am super excited about it and (as Robbie can attest) full of ideas for adding features to the site and enhancing the experience for everyone. I am also pursuing getting a sponsor so we can have shirts, or pedometers, or some other cheesy swag to give away to everyone, looking at race shirts for those of you doing any local runs, etc. Stay tuned and keep logging those miles!

Last week was pretty bad for me, but the long weekend allowed me to recuperate a little bit a get a better frame of mind for dealing with this week's pile of stress. Sometimes attitude makes all the difference.

I went and saw Cloverfield today, which I was pretty excited about, and while it was definitely good, I hated it.
What?
Well I never had a lot of video games as a kid, but anytime I would play with a friend's and play the first person shooter games like 007 on the N64, I'd get really sick. It seems that I am unable to handle that shaky first-person viewpoint without getting nauseas, Weird, I know. Well since Cloverfield was shot entirely in that viewpoint, I watched about 25% of it and listened to the rest. I tried to make sure I saw the good/exciting parts, but I'd last about 2 minutes before I'd feel like I was at the point of vomiting. Not exactly the best way to see a movie.

Today is a bank holiday - aka sit around and be lazy day.
Sunday - 01.20.08
Walking the dog outside in PJs and a hoodie and it doesn't feel 22 degrees.
Trying to come up with a plan for the day.
I'm really tired from being out so late last night so it is kinda nice that its a cold snow day. This makes it easier to justify sitting around watching movies.

Looks like Jeremy brought the snow to Raleigh too. Now if only he had brought the Jeremy to Raleigh.

Enjoying Codaphonic at Dowtown Events Center.
Laughing at two cops who just ran by pushing a car.

For some reason when I am working at home I sit with left leg bent and my right foot sitting on top of my left foot. It is a really odd body position and I don't know why I only do it when at home, but after 4 days of working at home and sitting like this, I feel like my left is going to fall off. Just one of the many reason why working at home is great, but working at home 100% of the time is proving to be a bad idea. Hopefully our dog will be back to her old self soon so that I can actually leave the house at some point.

Oh, and Monday is a holiday! Double score.
Just got word that Scottie P is going to be in town Sunday to see us. Awesome!

Trying out the new iPhone software.
It's a sad state of affairs here at the Harkey household today. We took our doggy to have surgery on both of her back knees yesterday so she is laying here knocked out, waking up to moan now and then. Meanwhile, Leigh has come down with something so she is passed out in the bedroom feeling pretty horrible. I have had back to back calls all day today - sometimes two at one time - so I've had a phone in each ear, all while trying to comfort the dog and help Leigh somehow.
Busy times indeed, but I did get to spend some time in Oakland/San Francisco last week for work and despite the short trip I did manage to have some fun while there. This week will surely rush by with all the work, but Friday brings good times with the latest SURecords signing Codaphonic coming into town to play with local favorites Tiger Thief. Now if I can just make it to Friday.

In the true spirit of 1by365 I just ran a mile but running back and forth over a 25 foot space in my hotel room 212 times. Work with what you've got I suppose.

It's been one hell of a frustrating day and I am happily enjoying a Heineken pint from my new mini-keg. I don't drink a lot of beer, but the mini-keg has tempted me for some time so I finally gave in. Work is frustrating, stressful and on the brink of being overwhelming right now and that combined with Leigh and I making some huge life decisions and the temporary uncertainty that will bring seems to be pushing me to the edge of sanity. I try and step back and put it all in perspective (aka relax), but sometimes you just need to vent. Now is that time.
One thing I will say is that over the years music has consistently been the key to bringing me out of a foul mood and making me lighten up. It's amazing to me that the combination of sound from various man made instruments can have that amount of power over a person's emotional and mental state, but it is oh so true. A life without music isn't much of a life at all.
