After kinda reflecting on the weekend a little bit, it turns out it was actually a pretty good time despite the frustration of starting and then having to abandon a tile project. We did manage to confirm that we should not take on home improvements ourselves. We thought we learned this lesson before, but decided to make an exceptions for something as easy as tiling a 15sqft back splash; however, after 2 days of work, and even help from my Mom, in the end we were once again proven incompetent with home repair. Lesson learned. Oh, and don't try to install small mosaic glass tile yourselves.
Just FYI.

So that small thing aside, we did get to spend the weekend hanging out with my Mom, and it was really nice to have her up in our neck of the woods. Despite going to see both sets of my parents and Leigh's parents for every major Holiday, it is very rare that we get to spend time with family here in Raleigh. It's nice to be able to see family, but not have to spend the weekend out of town.

In addition to the Mom visit, we also finally had Trent and Erin over to the house and we eve got to see Tina and her amazingly well behaved and cute baby. I think we have only had friends out our house maybe once in the almost 2 years we lived here, yet we somehow managed to have a house full of people on a random Saturday night. Good times. (10:39pm)
