I have gotten this news from multiple sources, but the quote is priceless so I wanted to share. Basically, the lead singer of the band Valient Thor is donating a kidney to his sick dad and then 6 weeks later playing major festivals in the UK. When asked about the short recovery time, he had this to say:
Everybody keeps saying, 'This is a big thing to do.' But I think anybody put in this situation would do the same thing. With the statistics I've seen, it should be an easy process. You can live just fine with one kidney. You know, it's like buying hot pockets. A box comes with two, but you really only need one."
